Christmas with Dashie"DADDY!" I awoke to hear Dashie's startled shout. I bolted out of my bed to her room to see what was wrong, and I found her standing on her dresser, hooves against the window, staring in awe and the magnificent snowscape forming outside as the white flakes blanketed the the ground. Dashie turned to me, her eyes wide with confusion. "What's going on?" She asked."That's called snow, Dashie." She looked at me, just as confused as before. "It's like... Flaky frozen water. It falls sometimes here." Dashie continued to stare at me with the same confusion and awe. "... Here, I'll show you." I grabbed my jacket and held it out to Dashie and she obediently let me scoop her up. I wrapped her in my jacket and took her outside.As I stepped outside, her head darted Every which way in curiosity. A single flake of snow fell on her nose and she jumped, then shook her head furiously. I let out a quiet chuckle. Then, much to my surprise, she wiggled her way out of my arms and jumped to the ground. She
My Little Dashie: Moving DayI just really couldn't believe how fast time has flown by. Dashie is turning fifteen already and were finally moving out of my parents' home for good. Yep, tomorrow we are ready to move to our new home far away from the rundown neighborhood we've grown accustomed to. I was a bit nervous though as Dashie and I had to sit down and talk about one last thing."Please daddy, you know I can do it," Dashie pleaded with all her heart."Dashie, it's not that I don't think you can do it. I know you can, but it just seems too dangerous," I said trying to be as stern as I could.A friend of mine from my old job had agreed to help me move out of my parent's house and there was no way I could let him see Dashie. Dashie insisted on flying all the way to our new home in the country. Again, it's not that I don't trust that she can't make it there on here own; she is a strong young mare after all. I've watched her fly for hours tirelessly in the park, she was more than capable of taking care of herself
